Abstract:
Life recreates the risk and uncertainty constantly. Both, hedger and speculator are dealing with the risk. But is the risk a problem or can it be an opportunity? Are derivatives efficient ways of managing the risks or simply ways of assuming more risks? Why do companies continue to use derivatives when there is known the great collapses in the world generated by these instruments? Are derivatives useful or risky? These are just a few questions, our study will provide answers. Identifying classifications of derivatives, the paper is trying to reveal the most or less risky derivatives and to find answers to the most common and controversial questions.
