Abstract:
The World Wide Web is a rich source of information and continues to expand in size and complexity. Increasing complexity requires design and organization, in order to synchronize the visual qualities with the requirements of a particular domain. A number of researchers have already recognized the lack of design methods for Web-based information systems and proposed a series of methods. The present paper will cover the following topics: user centered design methods (e.g.: WSDM, Contextual interviews, Parallel design, Task analyses), as well as conceptual design and implementation design. The research will focus on the design methods for the semantic web, and especially on identifying the drawbacks and the possibilities to improve the existing methods and tools. Despite the development of various tools for web annotation, the annotation process remains very heavy and time consuming. One of the most difficult areas is the reuse of the annotation, for both static and dynamic web pages.
