Abstract:  

Success with any Information Systems (IS) tool or method requires understanding certain basic concepts. Decision-makers receive and analyze information using many different media, including traditional print, group and interpersonal exchanges, and computer-based tools. Decision Support Systems (DSS) has different usage and performance characteristics from operational systems. DSS users need data that accurately describes the organization, is accessible and internally consistent, and is organized for access and download to analysis tools on the personal computer. This paper attempts to categorize computerized information systems and technologies that inform and support decision-makers
