Abstract:
This paper introduces XBRL language, and the opportunities offered in financial reports. XBRL is an XML based language and it is used in many countries by different companies and governmental organizations for financial reports. We will present the basic elements of XBRL language and the advantages brought by its usage in business world. Also, we will present some XBRL examples and the interpretation of the resulting business reports, and some software for XBRL. As a conclusion, we will present the opportunities of introducing XBRL in Romanian business domain.
