Abstract:
This article explores some of the questions we should be asking ourselves in using electronic signature legislation as a vehicle for advancing e-commerce. First, we will define what we mean when we refer to electronic and digital signatures. Furthermore, we will outline the underlying techniques and examine the primary legislative approaches developed to date. The electronic signature capability is a critical component in realizing e-government goals. Online and electronic contracts signed in the private sector with an electronic signature will have the same legal force as paper contract
